What’s New about ReSound Sensia Vs. the Older Vivia Line?

The two key differences with all Sensia technology levels, as compared to the Vivias, is the inclusion of AcoustIQ automated AI sound processing and a four-microphone beam that targets the speaker you are listening to. The AcoustIQ feature improves upon the Vivias need for manual control to turn on the Deep Neural Network AI processing which reduces noise in loud environments with more clarity and effectiveness. The four-microphone beam helps to mitigate a potential shortcoming of these DNN systems, whereby it aids in locating the most important sound in the room. Automatic noise reduction via AI is often spot on; however, a shortcoming can be that it may choose the wrong speech or sound as the primary sound the user is listening for. The four-beam microphone detects the sound from where the user is looking and aids in determination of the sound and speech that this user is seeking out. The Sensias keep lower sounds open in all directions around the user, but focusing more heavily on mid range speech. This assists in resolving issues in prior hearing aid models that may experience major changes in volume as the hearing aids adjust to surrounding noise.
