In short, yes we do accept insurance; however, the process for submission will be slightly different than you are accustomed to. While most commercial insurance companies do not offer a hearing aid benefit, there are a few that issue out of network, direct reimbursement up to an allowed amount – regardless of the provider you see. If your plan does offer a benefit, we will help you submit a claim to your insurance on your behalf, and the check will be sent directly to you by the insurance provider. We will still collect payment in full for the hearing aids on the date of your purchase. Should your insurance company deny the claim for any reason, we will not refund any money, unless you are still within your trial period.
The most important factor to consider when gathering quotes for hearing aids, aside from the quality of care, of course, is your total out of pocket cost after discounts and insurance payments. Private practices will most likely bill based off MSRP in order to achieve the greatest reimbursement from insurance, so, with or without a direct reimbursement benefit there is a good possibility you will spend less out of pocket when buying through FitHearing, as compared to utilizing a direct in-network benefit with a contracted provider.
