Our Testing Policy
All manufacturers require that their prescription hearing aids be programmed to a precise Audiogram, obtained by a licensed hearing specialist on clinically validated, annually calibrated equipment that meets IEC 60645-1 standards. IEC 60645-1 specifies general requirements for audiometers designed for use in determining hearing threshold levels. Our policy is in line with these manufacturer and industry standards. We discourage the use of online hearing tests, as your results can be highly inaccurate, and our standard for care does not align with online testing. Online tests are most often highly inaccurate on several levels, including erroneous signal generation & lack of calibration. For example, these test may not be generating the proper frequencies or accurate dB outputs, therefore invalidating the data. The inaccuracy is then compounded by eliminating the booth or calibrated headphones. Your headphones aren’t calibrated to the system, so your responses can be off by 10s of dBs, so naturally your hearing aids are programmed incorrectly. We ensure only precise programming that meets industry standards with every hearing aid that we ship.
