Why You Should Choose FitHearing Over Miracle Ear
Here at the FitHearing Audiology network, we work with hearing professionals nationwide to provide localized service and lower-cost hearing aids. We pride ourselves on offering more personalized service than a big box company, alongside the buying power that only a larger company can provide.
But we are not the only ones. Another company you might be considering alongside us is Miracle-Ear. Let’s take a look at this company and why you might be better off with us instead.
Who is Miracle-Ear?
Miracle-Ear is a provider of direct-to-consumer hearing aids. Miracle-Ear is one of the oldest manufacturers of hearing aids in the business and has some very technologically advanced hearing aids.
Its extensive network of local stores across the country offer hearing tests, hearing aid fitting, and service to help set them apart from other direct-to-consumer businesses with no local presence or way to shop in-store for hearing aids. Miracle-Ear has brick and mortar storage locations in all 50 states that offer hearing aid services.
Miracle-Ear has a supply contract with Sivantos, one of the most respected manufacturers of hearing aids. Sivantos manufacturers Signia hearing aids. Based on Miracle Ear’s website’s pictures and technology descriptions, it seems that Miracle-Ear hearing aids may be private-labeled Signia hearing aids or at least comparable technology.
Why FitHearing is the better choice for you
Like other hearing aid networks, there’s no doubt that Miracle-Ear offers considerable advantages for the hearing aid user. Nevertheless, we still think we have the edge. Here are a few reasons why:
#1: We work with all the major manufacturers.
FitHearing offers products from all the major manufacturers, rather than just one manufacturer. Whether you are looking for the latest Oticon model or are currently on the market for the best rechargeable hearing aid, you can be sure we can offer it.
#2: We offer better value for money.
Because stores tend to acquire geographical territories exclusively, and locations are typically situated a reasonable distance from each other, there is a little-to-no-pricing competition between different locations for a Miracle-Ear hearing aid.
The FitHearing network, on the other hand, consists of a multitude of small practices. In combination with strategic cost savings and streamlined processes, we have made it possible for small hearing aid practices to operate on a much larger scale.
As such, all of our hearing aids are available with 35% of the retail price and included servicing by a local audiologist, a damage warranty, and a years’ supply of hearing aid batteries from the get-go.
#3: We offer guaranteed care from an audiologist.
We only offer services through Audiologists, whereas Miracle-Ear has a range of hearing professionals, including hearing instrument specialists.
The most significant difference between an audiologist and a hearing instrument specialist is that an audiologist has an advanced degree in hearing health, including hearing aids. This takes around four years of rigorous training. In contrast, the hearing aid specialist has a high school or two-year degree and has received training and passed their state examination for hearing aid dispensation only, which takes two years or less.
An independent and certified audiologist is the most trained specialist to diagnose and assess your hearing and to prescribe a holistic solution to your hearing needs.
#4: We’re more convenient for hearing aid adjustments.
Hearing aid fittings are a delicate and personal process where the hearing aid professional’s skill will be tested.
Miracle-Ear hearing aids are locked by their software, which means you will need to find another Miracle-Ear store to program your hearing aids if you’re not happy with your current hearing aid provider.
A hearing aid professional outside the network will not be able to adjust the hearing aid. That means if you want to work with another Miracle-Ear hearing aid professional, you may have to travel some distance. This is because all stores tend to claim exclusive geographical territories, meaning that no other Miracle-Ear can operate within a certain radius of that store.
#5: We’re more convenient for repairs.
Because Miracle-Ear uses only one manufacturer, you can only go to a Miracle-Ear store if you need to repair a hearing aid purchased from them. But as FitHearing works with all manufacturers, if you need repairs/services, you can visit any audiology practice that you need to get the job done.
